We have worked closely with SwellPro International and Durban life saving head, Jace Govender, to design a product that would help our life savers work optimally on South African beaches, while maintaining their personal safety. After two years of hard work and extensive tests, driven by passion while maintaining thoroughness, SwellPro's next drone to launch is perfectly set to penetrate and dominate the life saving and search and rescue industries.

MEET THE SWELLPRO SPLASH DRONE 4!

This drone's flashy exterior of bright orange is not a facade, but rather depicts the mind-blowing specs of the drone. Extremely easy to fly, with a flying range of 3km and being fully waterproof, the drone is completely user-friendly and can be marketed to the most advanced fishermen and search and rescue teams or a father son duo who want to have fun with their new toy. This drone can be fitted with multiple different camera versions, and payload options as-well as a payload release mechanism that can handle weights of up to 2kg, making it the ideal product to fly a life bouy out to a victim at sea. It is equipped for the most unpredictable of weather conditions, being able to handle any rain conditions and fly in winds of up to 60km per hour, making it the ideal search and rescue drone for the harshest of environments.

The aim of the drone is not to render the current responsibilities of your life savers null and void, but rather to aid first responders in their efforts, "buying" the victim extra time, an extremely beneficial feature as marginal time differences can determine the outcome of life or death.

To visualise the extent to which the drone helpfulness would be applicable, imagine someone is drowning 800m out at sea; the drone would travel to the victim in under 2 minutes, whilst the persons on the floor prepare for a shore entry. The drone could then arrive at the victim, drop a life bouy to assist the victim and prevent drowning whilst the other life savers are swimming to the victim. The victim then has the bouy to rely on, keeping them more buoyant and exerting less crucial energy whilst they wait for the second responders to arrive. The drones job isn't done, as it is now also aiding as an indicator for the shore entry life savers to make sure they are heading in the right direction, buying more additional time. The current practices of not using a drone are inefficient in that they leave life savers becoming disorientated very quickly as they try to see a victim whilst there are sets running , but with the use of the drone, life savers simply need to keep their eyes in the sky as they swim towards the marker that is the big bright orange drone. Current best industry practices are defined by technology use and with the use of drones growing exponentially, we can confidently say the integration of drones into life saving practices is the way forward.

The fully waterproof drone would come fitted with a search and rescue 4k camera which can move vertically, with the easy use of a remote control, furthermore, the drone's specs include a bright spot light to help spot victims in low light and misty conditions. It is also fitted with a payload release mechanism separate to the camera this will be used to deploy emergency items. The drone is fitter with a Lost drone beacon that allows one to find their drone, in the rare event it goes down.

The drone's packaging entails an ergonomically friendly designed carry bag that helps speed up the process of assembly. All cameras, landing gear, etc is stored whilst attached to the drone meaning you can remove the drone, add the quick fit propellers and have it ready to use in a timely manner. For our more conservative clients, we recommend that the drone is setup ready on standby during the day, so it can be deployed on its mission right away.

The batteries are large and smart intelligent batteries that boast a flight time of about 30 minutes without load. The batteries require no maintenance and are fitted with technology that, if kept fully charged, will discharge themselves at the appropriate time to avoid any damage to the battery.

The remote control is also fully waterproof which makes it appropriate for use in any terrains or climates. Furthermore, with a seal of IPX 66 you can be confident that your drone and remote are both durable and reliable. The remote of the drone is very easy to use with built in on screen basic telemetry data information, namely, height, distance, satellite connection and flying time remaining. It has a phone clip attachment that should be attached with a phone that is running the SwellPro fly app, here you will be greeted with a host of user-friendly applications that can be used to execute the missions successfully whilst providing you with camera feedback, GPS locational co-ordinates and easy fly app control.
